Restaurants in Hawaii, or special shops, can be a satisfying part of your vacation. Here are some we have personally enjoyed. Please let us know about any that you think we should add to this list.  Roy’s at the King’s Shops. It’s close to the hotels, about 15 minutes from the condo. Has outside dining over looking a lagoon. Great bar for a beer while the ladies shop in The Kings Center. Has a very good PuPu platter.
Café Pesto in Kawaihae. Nice little place for lunch. Maybe 20 minutes from the condo. Some good Italian items on the menu. Kaawaihea is a very small town with one of the islands main shipping harbors, but it’s a neat place.
Kawaihea Harbor Grill Wonderful seafood and steak. Again, great view of the harbor and an active bar. Get there early as they don’t take reservations.
Bamboo Café in Hawi This is a great place. The café is located in an old general store from the sugar cane days. As you come in to town on the right, is a gift store that has Hawaiian made items. The food is excellent; we’ve had both wonderful lunches and dinners here. The town of Hawi is one of my favorite little, old original Hawaiian villages. And, the mountain road back to Waikoloa Village is beautiful!!!
Merriman’s in Waimea. An upscale restaurant with a great staff. Wonderful service. We’ve had many great dinners here.
